These boots were made for walkin'....

What an unbelievable weekend....  so much so that I had to blog about it before Monday!

Let's get to it...

Friday?  Well, Friday was two days ago therefore I can no longer remember what in the frickin' hell we did.

Yeah, yeah, I know, Ginko Biloba.  I'm on it.

Anyway -- Saturday Nicki brought her puppy Kylie over to visit.

What an adorable animal.

Of course our dog Mickey has no frickin' manners and charges at whatever dog he's playing with.  Now, Mickey is a frickin' bear.... and therefore intimidates the hell outta any dog.

Eventually Kylie out-energied Mickey so he calmed the hell down.

It was really nice to have Nicki over... hoping she comes over and visits soon.

K came and picked up Jeremie and Kristie went to visit her man and off we went to Hartford for the Dave Matthews concert.

Picture this if you will.... 3, 4, 5 large parking lots PACKED full of early-20-somethings drinking.  Drinking a LOT.

We get stuck in the clay trying to park the damn car.  Three guys had to push us out.

After that fiasco, we walk over to the theater.  We get in -- find a place to park our Yankees blanket (in a sea of Red Sox hats and t-shirts) and what happens?  Drops of rain...  mobs of teenie boppers... smell of weed wafting all around us.

Some of these kids were so frickin' drunk they were stumbling around.

The longer we sat there the less we wanted to be there.  The boys started getting rowdy... the rain started coming down harder -- then we realized that if it rained much more we'd never get the car out...

So we left.

Never even got to see Dave Matthews.  lol

I lie -- he came out to introduce the opening act -- so we did see a little speck of a man way down there on the stage.

So we hopped back in the car and trekked our way back home...  which was alright with me...  I can't even imagine what kinda trouble was brewing on that lawn after we left.

On the way out we were seeing people WASTED all over the place.

We decided we were entirely too old for that sh!t.  lol

Sunday morning we decided that we were entirely too back-logged in the laundry department so we packed up several hampers and a few bags and traipsed over to the laundromat.

OMG can I just say that it was f*cking HOT today.  The car gauged it at 107.  I think that may be off a few degrees but definitely not much.

We ended up being there for EVER.

We had plans to go on a picnic, then a visit to Jess' family picnic then a stop at her friend's daughter's party and didn't end up doing any of it.

So we decided we'd just douse ourselves with the hose then BBQ.

While we were spraying ourselves outside with the hose -- K pulled up to drop Jeremie off.

She looked kinda pissy so I didn't say anything to her.

Then Jess said she'd go to Stop & Shop and get stuff to BBQ... she was gonna make stuffed hamburgers... ;)  The stomach is definitely not only the way to a man's heart... lemme tell ya.  lol

Anyway -- while she was at the supermarket the kids and I had a really great conversation.

They told me how happy they are to see me happy... and that it's so obvious how happy I am.  :::big cheezy grin::::

And that Jess is good for me... and that I am gonna walk Kristie down the aisle...  what an awesome conversation, can I just say?

A happy mom means happy kids, right?

:::teehee:::

Anyway, during this conversation the phone rings and it's Jess telling me she...

JUST GOT HIT BY A CAR WALKING BACK TO HER CAR IN THE PARKING LOT!

While I was on the phone and saying "Are you ok?" the expressions on the kids faces just dropped...

Apparently a "mentally impaired" man ran right into her.  Luckily she didn't fall to the ground but OMG did she put a scare in me.

She's limping now the poor baby.

I'm so glad that man wasn't going any faster and didn't do any serious damage!  My poor squishee.

When she came home both the kids went out to meet her at the car to find out what happened... it was really sweet.  I do believe my chillens have taken a shine to her.

;)

On the upside -- them burgers were BANGIN!! omg -- and she made grilled corn-on-the-cob (per Packie's recipe) WOOO damn they were good!

Right now we're all in the living room watching Secondhand Lions (ok, I'm peripherally watching whilst I type this)....  but we're all home --- we're all safe and the weekend is over.

Tomorrow is gonna be hell at work -- boss is back from vacation and it's the last day of the month so any last minute billing is gonna be upon me.  Not lookin' forward to it...

But -- I just gotta survive the week then I'm off for 5 days to vacation with the wife and kids... (ok she ain't my wife yet --- pvvvvvvt.... )

Hope you all had a good weekend....

Holla atcha gurl... ;)

(It's the "floats" part that got me lol)
