Ok... here we go.
First, Jess and I were shopping at Marshall's a few weeks ago and saw two paintings that we fell in love with. So on layaway they went. lol
After spending much time staring at the artist's signature we finally determined it said Garibaldi. We love his style so much we went to his website to see if there was anything else we could get from him.
This is what we bought:
They are so frickin' hot. The way they look above is actually how they look behind the couch... with the burgundy paint, it looks hot.
After looking at his website, I think we got the best two -- though there is one more I'd like to have and one or two more Jess wanted...
So Friday night was a beautiful night weather-wise. I was off to a late start with dinner so I asked Jess to take a walk with me around the block.
We were gone all of 10 minutes when we get back and Jeremie tells me that the neighbor across the street came by looking for me.
I hate that crap.
First of all, I was home all frickin' nite. The 10 minutes that I leave someone comes and rings my frickin' doorbell.
Second of all, I hate neighbors. I think the only good neighbor is the one you don't know.
Beyond waving a hello every now and again, I do not interact with my neighbors. I don't wanna chit chat... I don't wanna be buddies... I don't wanna borrow sugar or vice versa. Nada.
Why? Because if things go bad (which in my past has happened) you gotta see those motherf*ckers nearly every day.
So I think things are better left at a simple wave.
Anyway -- my neighbor is outside still talking to another neighbor so we go and stand at the edge of the driveway for him to come back so I can find out what bullsh*t he was gonna shovel on me.
So he finally comes over and says...
"You know, I don't know why but... the other neighbors keep coming to me about your lawn. And they keep saying they should call zoning on you because your lawn isn't cut. But I said, (in a sing-song voice) nooooooooooooooooooo don't do that just talk to her about it."
My f*cking hero.
I hate veiled threats. Be a man and threaten me out-right. I'd have more respect for ya.
Don't come off like you're my f*cking buddy but let me know that you're gonna sick Big Brother on me if I don't comply with your wishes.
What pissed me off more was that all week Jess and I were talking about having Jeremie cut the lawn on Saturday and now it looks like we did it b/c daddy said so.
GAWD -- I hate that sh*t!
I felt like a f*cking child.
Ugh.
Meanwhile, Cat and Roni were on their date... so we were all wonderin' how that was going... lol
Nosey buggers. ;)
So Saturday we took Jeremie to go get a haircut.
The wig Jess borrowed from Kristie for that Eat, Drink and Be Married thing was in the car...
So Jeremie put it on and walked into Supercuts wearing it and said, "I need a haircut."
LOL It was hysterical.
You shoulda seen the woman's face. lol
After she took his name he took it off and everyone started laughing...
After that we went to pick up bagels from Kristie's job then went home and started working on the yard (which, by the way, the lawn was only about 2-3 inches too long -- it's not like we had a jungle in our front yard).
Jeremie mowed the lawn -- Jess trimmed the bushes and I picked up the mess.
It took what felt like forever... I hate yard work. Blech.
Jess and Jeremie did a great job with everything too.
Yard looks nice though.
Of course the whole time Nosey Neighbor was outside monitoring us under the guise of trimming his hedges.
Then having the balls to compliment us on the dogwood tree in the front of the house... ugh -- whatever buddy.
We were sooo pooped afterwards we took a 2.5 hour nap to recover.
Oh, and turns out it is a zoning regulation to keep your yard landscaped... you know I looked that sh*t up. lol
Then we went to Walmart and picked up a new vacuum cleaner since mine was shot and new blinds for the house since all were broken or beyond dirty....
So we ran around the house putting up the blinds.
Got some room darkening ones for Kristie and our room... love 'em! :)
Though Kristie thinks her room needs to be black to be dark enough...
My little vampire. LOL
Sunday we went grocery shopping and had Jess' sister, Sarah, her husband Eric and their kids, Eric and Julia over for BBQ.
It was a lot of fun.
We had pasta salad, chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs and jello pie, chocolate-covered strawberries and watermelon for dessert.
Eric was originally there to change the ceiling fan in the kitchen which was hanging off the ceiling for months now.
He's coming back tomorrow to finish since I guess it doesn't have the right holder in the ceiling which is why it fell out to begin with.
It was so nice hanging out with them.
The kids are so frickin' cute I can't take it. LOL
And I think Sarah and Eric are funny too. They are such a cute couple.... the All-American family they are... :)
Wish we had remembered to charge the camera.
Jeremie and Eric get along real well. Jeremie loves being worshipped by younger boys. LOL
And that rounds out the weekend... :)
Oh, I got an email about blogging for gay families on June 1st. If you're interested in doing it, click here for more info.
Ok, time to go work... so here's your...
Of all the TV characters out there, which do you think is most like you?
